Are you cautious with whom you consume on social media? Are you careful with how much of them you are consuming? Naturally, when we are consuming other people’s creations online, we are soaking up their vibrational frequencies, which can be both beneficial to our life path and harmful. When we allow other’s creations into our sphere, we are being influenced whether we realize it or not.
While taking in the work of others, we are being presented with their lens that they perceive the world through. We have a decision about whether or not we want to put that lens on and live through it (sometimes we decide unconsciously to put on someone’s lens and this is where it can get sticky).
Be discerning before taking on someone’s lens. I’m not saying don’t be open to other people’s perspectives. Understanding other’s perspectives and expanding our point of view in life is how we grow and become better people. What I am saying is that it’s important to be careful with what you take on as your own truth. Since we are living in a time where anyone can post anything at anytime, it’s important to remember that these posts are not always going to be your truth.
What works for one person, may not work for you. What is medicine for one person, may be harmful or even fatal to another. The diet or food that I choose to eat, may not work for your body and constitution.
It can be beneficial to take on someone’s perspective, as long as you filter it through your own and create your own truth around the matter. The harmful aspect of this can manifest when you start living someone else’s dharma… when you start playing someone else’s game.
This will never work for you. You will only find yourself stuck, frustrated and spinning your wheels. This is what happens when we compare ourselves to another person, whether that’s walking about in the world or on social media.
I know you’ve probably heard this 100 times but I will tell you again to make sure it lands. You never know what is going on in someone’s life. You never know what they are going through despite what they might reveal through the smoke screen of social media.
Life is not all roses, oat milk lattes, and sparkly unicorns, ya know what I mean? In order to get the lotus, you’ve got to grow through that damn mud!
So be careful with who and what you’re consuming on the screen and in the world. Discernment is incredibly important in these realms. It can keep you stuck and spinning your wheels for a lifetime if you are trying to play someone else’s game. You need to find YOUR OWN game. Then you need to make the rules… and then you have to stick to them.
Your success isn’t going to look like their success. And the way they achieve their success really doesn’t have anything to do with how you are going to find yours. You have to listen to YOU. Listen to your intuition above all else. Let the little droplets of wisdom and insight from the cosmos lead the way.
The thing is, the Universe is going to drop you different droplets of insight and intuition than it’s going to drop me. And if I’m too busy trying to figure out the guidance that the Universe is giving you, I’m going to get stuck.
So your job is to get busy and get quiet going inward to listen to what the Universe wants YOU to bring to life… it’s going to be completely different and unique than what I am being asked to create. So follow that, don’t copy, don’t compare… just do you and let the inspiration from others spark this desire to go within yourself and listen.
Let me know if this resonates for you! I’d love to hear from you.
